Credit Funding in OpenCRM
23 Mar 2017Earlier this week, we completed a minor release that will be bringing some exciting new features and enhancements to our customers’ systems over the coming weeks. You can find a little introduction to the two big ticket items over in our version release news story and further details will be available to all our customers in the release notes, published on our own customer portal.
But I want to talk about one of the “minor” features that will be included in this release. It’s an addition that may have a small audience, it’s almost a niche feature, but those people will find their lives made so much easier once they’ve got it.
This is, as you may have guessed by the title of this blog, all about Credit Funding.
As a general process, users of OpenCRM will be able to top up and deduct from a fund linked to a Company record. These top ups and deductions will show up in their system as normal Invoices and Sales Orders.
It will be entirely up to the user to decide whether to “pay” for the order completely out of the Credit Fund or to only use a small portion of it.
As part of the development of this new process, we’ve also added a new type of PDF template that will allow people to product a report showing when the various orders took money off the fund and when others brought money back into the fund.
Now, it may seem odd to include a feature like this one to a system like OpenCRM, a system that is really designed to work for all different types of businesses. It’s too specific, I hear you cry.
But that’s the real beauty of OpenCRM. We’ve got this really broad product that can be used by 99% of businesses for their most general CRM needs. But that product also has a depth that you wouldn’t believe until you dove into the settings area. We’ve got features and processes and enhancements that can be used for incredibly specific needs like stock funding or that can be tailored to be used for even more bespoke and individual processes.
OpenCRM is a solution that can be tweaked and customised to suit an incredibly wide variety of business needs.
Although I originally hail from northern California, as soon as I arrived in Yorkshire I knew it was the place for me! At OpenCRM, I started out in the Business Development team, and then moved into compliance and Q&A because I love telling people what to do…ok, that’s not the real reason, but it makes for a good bio one-liner. When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me tramping through the dales, crafting, gardening, or with my nose in a book.
