Y3P: Countdown
9 Jun 2015
With only four sleeps to go until we face off against the heavyweight giants that are Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, final preparations are well under way and nerves are starting to settle in.
We have spent months training and honing our bodies for this gruelling 26 mile Y3P challenge. Even the fittest of us, myself included, have worked hard to gradually build up the muscle groups required to ensure our bodies are prepared and limit the risk of injury.
As we are now in the final run up to this once in a lifetime bout (no re-match for some of us) we are focusing on preparing our minds. Our bodies can breathe a sigh of relieve as we rest those weary legs and think positive thoughts while the ‘Rocky’ song plays continuously in our heads.
We are making sure we are relaxing, to keep any pre-walk anxiety at bay, getting plenty of sleep and eating healthy, as protein loaded foods help repair muscle.
There are going to be a lot of things about this walk we cannot control – the weather being the most obvious. However what we can control is that we do our very best. We will never relent, we will never give in, we will keep pushing and we will get to that final bell together.
My money is definitely on the OpenCRM team. How about yours?

Although I originally hail from northern California, as soon as I arrived in Yorkshire I knew it was the place for me! At OpenCRM, I started out in the Business Development team, and then moved into compliance and Q&A because I love telling people what to do…ok, that’s not the real reason, but it makes for a good bio one-liner. When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me tramping through the dales, crafting, gardening, or with my nose in a book.
